Kid's rescued pup - 110937 Pets to Alter: 1 puppy Yearly income: $10,000 + WIC + Childcare Assistance Program People to Support: 2 Contribution: $50 Donations Needed: $19
In Their Own Words: My daughter and I found a stray dog earlier this summer. I have a 1 year old daughter and am a single mom. We took her in not knowing she was pregnant. After she had her litter, I found homes for the mom and two of the puppies. I decided to keep one of the puppies, but don't really know that I can afford him. A friend recommended SpayNation to me. I am a single mom who works and goes to school. My daughter deserves a healthy puppy as a pet. Without this financial help, I don't know that we will be able to keep the dog. |
A donation made to SpayNation will be used to get this puppy fixed.
THANK YOU! |

Pets to Alter: 1 kitten Yearly income: $19,500 People to Support: 2 Contribution: $50 Donations Needed: $20 In Their Own Words: Junie is our curious little kitten who we adopted from an elderly woman who lived in Butte La Rose whose house was being threatened with flooding. We received Junie when she was 5 weeks old, and she had never received any veterinary care. When we were preparing for her first visit we found out that she had worms and the treatment cost over $100. We have been trying to find the money to get her fixed, shots, rabies vaccinated, and treated for fleas. She is the prettiest kitty around and we just want to get her healthy and happy to get a good start on the years of fun that we will have with her. Unfortunately, we are both students and our finances havent fallen into place lately. Any help would be great for us and for Junie Cat, We make sure that our animals are properly taken care of, but the cost of getting Junie shots, fixed, and treated for fleas is something that we have been struggling to find money for. She was taken to the vet when she had worms, but the visit was extremely expensive so I was unable to afford her kitten shots. She really needs to get her shots, so I'm trying to get all of that so she can enjoy a happy, long life with us. |

Pets to Alter: 1 dog Yearly income: $19,000 + WIC People to Support: 5 Contribution: $10 Donations Needed: $72
In Their Own Words: Our little dog Sophie is a Chiuaua/Shih Tzu mix. She is not a a year old yet. She was in heat in the first 2 weeks of October and now we believe she might have gotten pregnant by a stray dog who is much bigger than she. She is maybe a week or 2 weeks pregnant. We are going through some financial problems right now and cannot afford to get her fixed or do anything about the pregnancy. We know that she will not be able to birth the puppies because they will be too big and we do not want her to be hurt or die. We really love our dog and know that if she doesn't have the surgery, she will go through an inconsiderable amount of pain and would more than likely die. We really need to have this surgery for her. |
Donations made to SpayNation were used to spay Sophie.

Pets to Alter: 1 dog Yearly income: $9,600 People to Support: 1 Contribution: $30 Donations Needed: $43 In Their Own Words: Olive is a 6 month old black lab/blue heeler mix. When I first went to the animal shelter I had no intention of getting a dog (I was going to help a friend pick out an older dog to foster), but then I saw her, only a month old with a massive abscess on her head (she could barely hold it up), covered in ant bites and fleas still crawling all over her. She would only take a few steps before laying down again, and we knew she would soon be put down if we didn't take her. When we got home we noticed the bump on her head was bleeding, and she wasn't really responding to us. We immediately took her to the vet, where this free puppy quickly became a 200 dollar puppy. Not long after that that, she had ring worm, then kennel cough and a hernia, on top of all of her vaccinations, which left me barely scraping by. But all of it was definitely worth it. She's now about 6 months old and healthy as can be. The only thing I have to worry about now is getting her fixed, and since I've back at school this semester, money has yet again become an issue. I've been putting off getting Olive fixed, but now that she's 6 months it needs to get done, especially since my roommate has a male dog who isn't fixed and is too old to get the surgery. I'm a college student living on my own trying to cover books and school supplies, a car note, rent and groceries all on a small waitress salary. I'm also trying to pay off medical bills from a car accident that I got in two and a half years ago. Olive is of course a priority, but with money being so tight any assistance at all would be so greatly appreciated! |

Pets to Alter: 5 cats Yearly income: $20,000 + Social Security benefits + unemployment benefits People to Support: 2 Contribution: $100 Donations Needed: $106
In Their Own Words: There are five neighborhood cats who come and go. Sometimes they hang around for a few days at a time. They are friendly for the most part, but they run away when we get close to them. We are concerned about uncontrolled litters. Three are female, and two are male. I am disabled, and my husband was laid off five months ago. We love animals, and we would like to prevent the likelihood of more homeless cats. Two of the cats have had several litters. One delivered in our yard a few months ago and abandoned them. We were able to save two of the newborn kittens for two days but were ultimately unsuccessful. Those were the two hardest days of our lives, and we can't go through that kind of heartbreak again. |

In Their Own Words: He is a male kitten my husband found abandoned in the back of his work place. He is semi tamed and would make someone a wonderful pet.But needs to be fixed before given away.Normally fixing them wouldn't be a problem but only my husband works and we recently lost our free care from UMC because twice a year we get an extra check.Which usually for us covers repairs to our home or car which are both older models and now medication for myself.I have asthma and its very expensive to fill those medicines along with the ones for my other health issues. We make only 2,400 a month before tax cut and we get no assistance from the state. We already have 5 cats of our own.3 of which are strays that we have taken in and fixed. Also 2 dogs of our own.We also feed strays in the neighborhood where we live because who could look at a poor starving animal and refuse them food.We try to help the animals when we find them but this time its a struggle with having to buy medicine and take care of everyone. |

My daughter's babysitter daughter was driving home & found a stray puppy wandering around a major street. So she drove around the neighborhood near there asking people if they lost a dog. No one claimed her. So they called me. I had been suffering from extreme fatigue. I had went to several doctors & had several test done. None of them conclusive. But I digress. I told them that I would have to see her. So they brought her to my trailer. She's a black in grey schnauzer mix with big brown eyes. She's smart & self determined & reminds me of my four year old daughter with her spirit & temperament. She's independent & loyal to a fault. She greets me after a long day & comforts me at night. In fact as I type this she is laying at my feet. She makes me feel better & helps with my stress. Most of all she loves my children. Shell bark if someone charges me or my daughter. She enjoys girl time & even pets me sometime. My daughter is as tenacious and rambunctious as the day is long. She can sometimes play rough with my dog SoPhee as we call her & she never bites, snaps, or even barks at her. In fact the only time she barks is if she wants to roam free & I want to protect her. I want to fix her because she is the only female dog in the neighborhood & the other dogs are huge & try to run her over to get to her because she is coming into heat. She's a little thing & a very special parr of this family & I'm worried that her getting pregnant will hurt or kill her. I am afraid of that because she means so much to my kids but she is my heart. This dog or my baby is so very special to me. I was scared that what ever was ailing me would inevitably take me from my children & it vanished the day I got her. I am afraid that i will lose her & I know she was my blessing from god. So I ask if the funds are available you please help. I make sure my children are at there best I will do anything to ensure that she is okay even give her up which I know it would kill me to do. |
SoPhee will be spayed thanks to a generous donor

In Their Own Words: 1 adult female cat, 4 kittens, 3 months old (the pregnant female adult was dropped off in front of my home (like it happens so often).) We are financally handicapped, my wife takes 7 prescription that would put her in the donuthole so we cannot have medicare part D. If we cannot get them spad, we will have to bring them to the dog pound. By the way, these cats are not social. They are outside cats and they do not want to be touch or played with. We have been feeding them and will continue to do so if we can get them spad, they help keep the mouse and rat population down. We are elderly people receiving social security (and that being our total income) and we are not completley healthy. |

Tony, the Cat
I am a full time student at ULL. I'm a single parent with three children. I am on a student visa since my divorce, which doesn't allow me to work. I have to pay out of state fees. Also my ex is dragging me through the court to reduce child support and the legal fees are crippling me. I feel like I'm hanging on by a string trying to keep things 'normal' for my kids. I'm trying to be a good pet parent but it's extra money that we just don't have. |
Enough donations were collected to get Tony fixed.

Sam
In Their Own Words: These two wonderful doggies (Sam & Liberty) are drop-offs that showed up in my yard and never left. They are looking for a fur-ever home. I am trying all I can to help them. No-kill shelters are full and there are no available fosters for them. I am willing to be their foster until we find their special someone :) I am trying to go through a rescue but I haven't gotten through yet... still trying. Look them up on facebook on a page I created- Outlaw's Cause For Neighborhood Paws. Thank you for your donation :) |

Pets to Alter: 1 dog + 1 cat + 2 puppies Yearly income: $28,000 People to Support: 2 Donations Needed: $275 Donations were made for the male cat and male dog. The 2 female puppies still need donations. In Their Own Words: My boyfriend was Diagnoised with cancer in late 2009 and the bills with that have put us incredibly in debt. At this point I am only able to afford his cobra insurance benefits and utilities... he was able to collect food stamps....but right now he is not receiving any other benefits. At this date we are almost 6 months behind on rent to give an idea of the position I am in as the only working member of the household and with an abundance of medical expenses to pay.
The cat was found under the hood of a car at CVS while I was picking up meds and the car/kitten owner didn't want to bother chasing the kitten when he escaped. He is now of the age that will begin wandering the neighborhood and we don't need more ferel kittens. I also have one male medium size mixed dog that is about 10 months old that is needing to be neutered. The other two female puppies will be needing to be fixed when they are old enough. SO,in total I have one male cat,one male dog and two female puppies. Any assistance would be appreciated! |

In Their Own Words: I was kicked out of my house earlier this year, and my puppy stayed with my parents. They have just recently decided that they will not pay for her vet bills, and will not keep her anymore. In order to make sure she won't be put to sleep, I have to take her, and now apply a three hundred dollar pet deposit to my lease, which leaves me in a hard position. I was unemployed for about a month or two, and my roommate and I were unable to receive food stamps due to the fact that we are both students, and I was not working, so I was to be excluded from the application. |
